Welcome to my newest post. So many things to write about that I can sometimes forget my real passion for writing a script, story or my own post.
Writing for me is my chance to be heard.
Writing is my chance to sort out my shared feelings. A chance to inspire you and inspire myself as I come to terms with where I am today.
Reason D'Etre is so very french and very precise. Pronounced "Raisin Day tra".
A simple thought that opens the doors to the thought process and it simply means in a stark profound way.
My reason for my existence as I am.
As I am seen.
As I am meant to be...
Each and every person comes into this world with a purpose, with their own unique talents to achieve their purpose and to hopefully use their inner wisdom to guide them along the way.
This is a birthright!
Without exception!.
Since everyone walking this Earth exists, I would want to think that everyone knew his or her purpose in life.
Unfortunately many people are disconnected with their Raison d'etre and are plodding along, successfully or not, spending their life energy and time doing something that may feed themselves and their family yet it starves their own soul.
We do not live in an either/or world.
We live in an "and" world.
You can do both.
Simply put, the reason you are here is to express your full potential using your unique qifts.
You are here to tap into the intuitive driven passion that achieves the purpose of bringing forth your unique gifts out into this world - expansively.
For those that feed their soul, do what makes their heart sing, work is play and each day is an opportunity to express to the world who they are, what they are here to do. Life flows seemingly effortlessly. Even with the ups and downs, twists and turns, life is fulfilling and worth the ride!
For those who live off-purpose, doing what they think they 'should' be doing, Life can be exhausting and unfulfilling even if successful. Those who have turned their back on their raison d'etre feel like something is missing and will sometimes joke that they "still don't know what they want to be when they grow up" well into adulthood.
If you struggle to find joy, energy and satisfaction in your work and in your life you are living off purpose. You are not living a life in alignment with who you are at your deepest core. Chances are you don't even know what your unique talents are let alone use them.
The funny thing is, many people don't see what their special gift is because it comes so easily for them. They find it so easy and effortless to do what they excel at naturally that they think everyone can do it. It doesn't occur to them that this unique talent is theirs as a birthright with which to express themselves and build their life around.
For myself I tend to see the gifts in people that they are not aware of them existing. When I voice what I see they latch on to every word as if I had discovered a secret about them that no one else sees.
I am glad to be a part of their discovery.
So, let's think back to when you were a child.
Who did you admire or aspire to be? Was it a famous person, a character in a book or movie, a relative or teacher?
Who awed you, made you stop and pay attention?
Pause for Music!!!
When the name of this person appears in your mind then I would like to ask myself what attributes of this person impressed you? Were they brave, funny, larger than life, strong, loving, free, giving, smart?
What was it about what this person or fictional character did that called out to you?
As for me as a child I was awed by a character I saw in a movie on TV, "Auntie Mame". Auntie Mame was a woman who was eclectic, fun, and very fashionable.
Mame surrounded herself with wonderfully odd creative and talented people, traveled around the world and experienced fun and fascinating events in her life.
Mame lived this rich in experience life and mentored others to do the same.
Oh, how I wanted to be Auntie Mame!
Did you ever wonder as to where I got my blog title "Live Live Live . Well from Mame herself.
As an adult, I reconnected with my truth and now live a life centered in the truth of who I am, enjoy rich delicious experiences, am surrounded by a wonderfully eclectic group of talented people and mentor others to live their lives as richly whatever that means to them.
Those of you that know me and maybe sometimes more than they care to know.
"I am Mame"
Now I would like to pose a question to you now. Don't overthink it. Don't get bogged down in to the soul searching aspect. But simply do this.
Think back to a time when you were 'in the zone'. You were totally present, in the moment, doing whatever it was that you were doing, enjoying it fully without any sense of time and space.
You were totally focused and bursting with creativity. These 'in the zone' experiences are windows to see your special gifts, your unique talents.
You are energized, firing on all cylinders. These are the moments that you are expressing YOU fully.
For a very close friend of mine his alter ego is a comedian. He even states it is his therapy. Well if any of you personally know any attorneys, the way to recover from that world is comedy. Same for the Doctors, the actors, the mentors themselves. We have to learn how to laugh and to make people laugh.
There was a day when I was working on film at a studio that I could not wait to run to my office and start writing about what I had done that day.
I had come to realize that if I was going to live a fulfilled live then I need to acknowledge and honor who I am. I am a writer. At the end of the day one of my raison d'etre's - is to just write!
Being a mentor another, creating and expressing my thoughts to lift up others. So many of the people have a tough time expressing their own thoughts. Expressing in a way that people understand. They sometimes are fearful of being seen as something that most do not approve or agree. That really should be a brainer as to not care what is thought about them.
I have been described many times as outrageous but full of energy, full of light. Well I am. I own every bit of me as who I am.
"The best thing you can do is to get really good at being you!"
"Be who you are and say what you feel. Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss
A discovery I found when I was taking care of my Mom as she got older. 10% of living longer is in your DNA. The other 90% is your life style. How you live day to day. Think every day.
I experienced this most days as well. How we treat and handle older people speaks volumes as to how we are taking care of ourselves. The life lesson and wisdom that we carry that teach us that it does get better if we want it to get better. The need and asking have to be present.
Another major lesson is the reason you wake up in the morning. Your "Reason D'Etre". If you are not sure or still in search of this very thing. Then I would ask that you take your own path to finding the reasons to be here. Please do not get bogged down in your thoughts of "Is this reason big enough". "Is it impressive enough". "Is it better than anyone else". Let the need to the accepted go, you only need to accept yourself as you are. Everything can be changed that you do not like. But you have to change in order to change.
One of the biggest joys for me was learning to just be me. The people that are around me shower me with positive thoughts, with support, with love. These are the very things I do for myself. It there are outside influences that attempt to make me feel that I am less than. Those thoughts disappear quickly because I have gotten very attached to my own world and the people in it. Plus as for me I can write my way out of it all. I can create something better.
Thanks for reading 'Live Live Live". Your own happiness is just a thought away.
