DL...the art of the down-low

The first rule. Never judge!

This is a lesson I have carried as long as I remembered. When you come from a background with labels. Jew, Kyke, Faggot Queer etc etc etc... The very labels that people use to try to somehow take control of your life and cause issues, pain and low self worth.

When you take the labels and realize that's on them and they do not define you then you are learning the survival of downlow.

I am extremely fortunate to know some of the best of the best A=listers in Hollywood, Paris, New York, Montreal, Seoul and London for starters. I have collected some of the most intensely intelligent and savvy people all my life. They come to me or appear because I am receptive to them and this was as lesson learned early on in my world.

If they talk with you and they open up. You can not judge them!!

You can not Judge them. The biblical rule. "Do not judge lest thee be judged"

The more comfortable they become, the more they tell you. If you ever mention their secrets to others or toss a tidbit that no one would ever know about them then you have lost that amazing friend, that amazing talent, that creative power and they will not return. Ever!!!

I have a close friendship with all walks of life and from the ones that society labels.

Some examples. Star, writer, director, stripper, male and female companion, porn star, politician, high class call girl etc.

The conversations with these sometimes extremes are awesome, creative and from the heart. They open up to me because of the trust, the non judgement, and as we get to know each other, the small bits and pieces that we have in common and define our bond.

When I get the chance to spend time with them. It becomes a release for them and me as well.

The delicate stories that they share with me, the dreams that made them realize early on of who they are, or as brilliant an icon in so many fields.

The largest bond they share between us of a passion, an intelligence and for so many of the most successful of them, the very stories of that we all come from a background of being toid we were different, a freak, a label on some levels because pf the truth of who we are inside, of the reality of the pains that we have endured that would and could make some people so uncomfortable, so freaked out, so OMG. Stop!!!

It is better that we keep the stories and our bonds private!!

When you see someone. Really See them, meaning see them as they really are under the mask, the cover, the personification, the branding and see their heart and soul.

Of how much hard work they did to get to where they are today. The tragedies, the victories and of the moments that defined them.

These incredible artists that I have gotten to know thru the years are so happy that someone gets them, that some one understands them, that someone does not judge them, then you are in the DL.

The DL know they can release and tell me what they have been doing, creating, writing, filming and not get a judgement on any part.

Sometimes you just need a sounding board.

One of the other lessons is because you never know who might be listening. My very existence could become an issue for some or not.

I love to listen, to learn, to live life as fully as possible. My levels of success are not at all defined by money or fame.

I am rich with the incredible people that open up , that inspire and motivate me. They have and will all my life.

It sometimes becomes so big that I have to share the inspiraiions learned, the lessons lived and the simple truth of knowing that you are truly and really loved.

Loved by the ones that move you, inspire you, the ones that open you up because by doing so the giving from both sides becomes genuine, becomes real, becomes who you are as a person.

Because I did not allow the judgements or labels define me. I learned to define them. And thats the down low.
